Hollywood Bowl Parking: Every Lot, Price and Exit Time

Most Hollywood Bowl parking advice online is out of date. It tells you there are four lots to choose from. There are two.

Since summer 2024, Lot B and Lot C have been converted into transportation hubs, which removed more than 300 general parking spaces from the site. If you turn up expecting to buy a space in Lot C on the night, you will be turned away.

Here is what actually exists in 2026, what each lot costs, and the one thing nobody explains properly: how stacked parking works, and how long it really keeps you in the lot after the show.

The short version

• Only Lot A and Lot D sell general parking. Lot B is accessible parking and the shuttle hub. Lot C is the rideshare hub and sells no parking at all.
• Every on-site lot is stacked. You are parked in behind other cars and you cannot leave early. There is no exception.
• Prices: Lot A is $55 (or $90 for valet). Lot D is $45 for LA Phil events and $55 for lease events. Add a $2.50 service fee per pass.
• Lots open three hours before showtime. Gates open two hours before. The Bowl suggests arriving 90 minutes before.
• Buy in advance. On-site parking is limited and regularly sells out before the day.
• If you need a fast exit, do not park on site. Use a non-stacked lot, a shuttle, or rideshare.

What stacked parking actually means

This is the part that catches people out, so it is worth being precise.

Stacked parking means an attendant directs you to park bumper to bumper behind another car, in a row, with cars either side of you. You do not choose your space. When you come back after the show, you are surrounded on all sides, sometimes with inches to spare.

You cannot move until the entire row in front of you moves. Attendants release rows in sequence once the crowd starts flowing out.

The Hollywood Bowl's own wording is direct: all parking lots are stack parked and there is no early exit. That is not a guideline. There is no self-park section, no premium row you can pay to escape from, and no arrangement you can make with an attendant on the night. If you slip out during the encore, you will get to your car faster and then sit in it.

How long does it take to get out?

The Bowl does not publish a figure, and you should be suspicious of any guide that quotes one as fact.

What you can plan around: on a busy sold-out night, budget 30 to 60 minutes from reaching your car to actually driving out of the lot, and then more time again to get down Highland Avenue. On a quieter midweek classical concert with a half-full lot, it can be closer to 15 or 20 minutes. The variable is simply how full the lot is, because your row cannot clear until the rows ahead of it do.

What if you have to leave early?

You cannot. Plan around it instead:

• Hard stop after the show? Take a shuttle. Return buses start departing about 20 minutes after the concert ends and get priority routing out of the venue.
• Need to leave mid-show? Park off site in a non-stacked lot, or arrive by rideshare.
• Catching a flight, or paying a babysitter by the hour? On-site parking is the wrong choice. This is the single most common regret people have about a Bowl night.

Every Hollywood Bowl parking lot, explained

Hollywood Bowl parking Lot A

Lot A is the blue lot on the west side of Highland Avenue, entered through the Bowl's main entrance driveway. It is the closest parking to the amphitheatre and it feeds straight into the Box Office plaza and the Main Gate.

It is stacked. Paying more does not change that. The $90 option in Lot A is valet, which is not stacked, and that is the actual difference you are paying for.

Lot A is also where accessible spaces sit, alongside Lot B.

Hollywood Bowl parking Lot B

Lot B used to be the big general lot on the Bowl side of Highland. It is now the Park & Ride and Bowl Shuttle hub, plus accessible parking. Unless you hold a valid ADA placard or plate, you are not parking here.

Shuttle and Park & Ride buses drop off at the top of Lot B, which is a genuinely good arrival point: you walk in on the level rather than climbing up from Highland.

Hollywood Bowl parking Lot C

Lot C is the small triangular lot next to the 101. It is now the rideshare hub and sells no parking. Direct your Uber or Lyft to 6655 Odin St. You reach the Bowl grounds through the pedestrian tunnel under Highland.

If you are being dropped off, this is where you want to be.

Hollywood Bowl parking Lot D

Lot D is at 6654 Odin St, on the southeast corner of Highland Avenue and Odin Street, across Highland from the Bowl. Look for the black and white "Lot D" sign. From there you walk to the pedestrian tunnel, which brings you out on the Bowl grounds near the museum at the bottom of Peppertree Lane.

It is the cheaper of the two general lots and it is also stacked. Budget around 10 to 12 minutes on foot, including the tunnel and the walk up.

Hollywood Bowl parking cost

Prices are not split by "classical season" the way people assume. They are split by who is putting the show on:

• LA Phil presented events are produced by the Los Angeles Philharmonic. This covers the classical program, the Tuesday and Thursday concerts, and most of the Bowl's own summer programming.
• Lease events are produced by an outside promoter. On the Bowl's calendar they are tagged "Special House Rules Apply."

That distinction affects Lot D pricing:

Every pass carries a $2.50 service fee. Bus and oversized passes have to be bought in advance through the Box Office. Motorcycle spaces are sold in person on the night.

If spaces remain on the night, cashiers at the lot take cash or card. They often do not remain, so buying ahead is the safer play.

Hollywood Bowl parking map

The official color-coded parking map lives on the Bowl's parking page, and it is the one to trust because it reflects the Lot B and Lot C changes. Print it or screenshot it before you drive, because phone signal in the canyon is patchy and the approach on Highland gives you very little time to read signage.

The colors are worth memorising: Blue is A, Green is B, Purple is C, Yellow is D.

Valet parking at the Hollywood Bowl

Valet is the only non-stacked option on site, which makes it the real VIP parking at the Hollywood Bowl. How you get it depends on the event:

Non-subscription LA Phil concerts. Valet is $90 and no donation is required. Contact Audience Services to buy it, subject to availability. This is the part most guides miss, because they describe valet as donors-only.

Subscription concerts, single night. Any patron can buy it, but a $500 donation is required per pass on top of the $90 parking fee.

Lease events. The LA Phil does not organize valet for these and you cannot book it in advance. It runs at the discretion of the production company. If it is available, you enter from Highland, reach the stop-sign kiosk where attendants check parking passes, and ask to buy valet there. It is $90, cash only, first come first served.

Season-long donor valet is a membership benefit at $3,500 (Gold, nearest the Field Gate) and $5,500 (Platinum, nearest the Express Exit Lane or covered parking) per series, per space, renewed annually.

Hollywood Bowl handicap parking

Accessible parking is available in Lot A (Blue) and Lot B (Green), at $45 for LA Phil produced events and $55 for lease events. You need a valid state-issued ADA placard or license plate.

It is limited and it sells out in advance, so book early. You can reserve through Accessibility Services on 323 850 2125, or by email, mail, fax, or online.

Worth knowing:

• The Lot B entrance is off the west side of Highland Avenue. Both lots include rear-loading and side-loading van spaces with accessible paths of travel into the seating areas.
• Electric cart pickup (the Patron Access Assistance Service) is near the accessible parking in Lot B. Carts and wheelchair escorts run before and after the concert, though there can be a wait afterwards.
• Arriving by rideshare: drop off at Lot C, and an accessible shuttle runs from there to the Box Office plaza. After the show, follow the Accessible Odin path to the top of Lot B for the shuttle back to Lot C.
• All Park & Ride lots use accessible buses, and return buses pick up at the blue tent in the Plaza, so you do not have to go down the hill and cross Highland.

LA Zoo parking for the Hollywood Bowl

Yes, it is still running, and it is one of the best value options at the venue.

The LA Zoo is a Bowl Shuttle lot (Line 672) at 5333 Zoo Dr. You park in Section C of the zoo lot, and parking there is free. Look for Hollywood Bowl signage and staff.

Shuttles leave every 15 to 20 minutes starting 2.5 hours before the concert, and drop off at the top of Lot B. Return shuttles depart about 20 minutes after the concert ends from the same place. Valid Metro TAP cards are accepted at this lot.

The fare is $6 round trip for LA Phil events and $12.45 for lease events online, with tickets available up to an hour before the show. On the night at the lot it is $6 cash or card for LA Phil events and $12 cash for lease events.

Run the numbers for a couple heading to a classical concert: $12 total from the LA Zoo, against $45 plus fee for Lot D, plus the stacked exit at the end of it.

Free parking and cheap lots near the Hollywood Bowl

There is no free on-site parking during events. But there are cheaper non-stacked options within walking distance.

Hollywood United Methodist Church

This is the one locals recommend, and its selling point is printed on their own website in capitals: they do not stack park.

• Where: 6817 Franklin Ave, across from Ovation Hollywood
• Cost: $20 to $60 per car depending on the event. Private events tend to be $35 to $60. They aim to be one of the cheapest on Highland
• Payment: cash only, no card or cheque. Zelle is possible, and there is an ATM at the gas station across the street
• Spaces: around 100, easy in easy out, first come first served
• Opens: 4pm for evening events, or 2.5 hours before showtime for daytime events
• Closes: one hour after the event ends. Cars left after that risk being towed, because the facilities staff go home
• Walk: about 10 minutes

They recommend arriving about an hour before showtime to be sure of a space. They do not reserve or pre-sell spots, so if a website offers you a reserved space in their lot, it is not them. They also ask for no alcohol, smoking, or tailgating on church grounds.

The trade-off is honest: you walk 10 minutes and you pay cash, and in return you back out of a normal parking space and drive away.

Other private lots

American Legion Post 43 at 2035 N Highland has sold Bowl parking in past seasons and is not stacked, roughly a 10 to 12 minute walk. Availability varies by night, so treat it as a check-on-arrival option rather than a plan.

Beyond that, parking apps like SpotHero, ParkWhiz, JustPark and Parkopedia map the smaller commercial lots along Highland and around Ovation Hollywood. These change hands often, so compare on the day.

Street parking near the Hollywood Bowl

Short answer: do not.

The Bowl asks patrons directly not to park in the surrounding neighborhoods, and warns it can result in a costly parking ticket. There is real enforcement behind that request.

The residential streets in the hills sit inside LADOT Preferential Parking Districts. Several of them ban parking without a permit from 6pm to 8am daily, which covers an entire evening concert, and limit daytime parking to two hours. Some of these districts were created specifically because Bowl-goers hunting free parking were filling residential streets.

On concert nights, the Bowl works with LADOT to deploy traffic officers, and some of those officers are assigned specifically to write parking citations rather than direct traffic.

On top of that, Milner Road at Highland and Camrose Drive at Highland are fully closed to all traffic except emergency vehicles on select high-traffic nights, which also makes Waze, Google Maps and Apple Maps route you away from them.

The streets that look most promising on a map are the ones with enforcement pointed at them. A ticket costs more than Lot D.

Park and ride and the Bowl Shuttle

More than a third of the Bowl's audience arrives by bus, and it is the venue's own recommendation. Park & Ride buses run from satellite lots across LA County on scheduled departure times, with free parking at most lots and tickets from $8 round trip online. Bowl Shuttles run continuously from closer lots including the LA Zoo and Ovation Hollywood.

Both drop off at the top of Lot B and both skip the stacked-lot wait entirely.

What time do the Hollywood Bowl parking lots open?

Work backwards from your showtime:

Most concerts run two to two and a half hours including a 20 minute intermission. Set times are not published in advance, so build in slack if you have anything after.

Where to park at the Hollywood Bowl: pick by priority

Cheapest overall: LA Zoo shuttle. Free parking, $6 each round trip for an LA Phil event.

Fastest exit: Hollywood United Methodist Church, or any shuttle. Not the on-site lots.

Shortest walk: Lot A at $55. You are paying for about five minutes of walking and a stacked exit.

Best all-round value on site: Lot D at $45 for an LA Phil event. Ten minute walk through the tunnel, same stacked exit as Lot A, $10 cheaper.

No walking, no waiting, and money is not the issue: valet at $90, which is the only non-stacked option on site.

Arriving with a group or in a large vehicle: book the bus or oversized pass through the Box Office in advance, because you cannot buy those on the night.

Hollywood Bowl parking tips

Buy before the day. On-site inventory is small now that Lots B and C are gone, and it sells out. Advance purchase is through the booking partner linked from the Bowl's parking page.

Check which kind of event you are attending. Lease events cost $10 more in Lot D, have different alcohol rules, and may not offer valet at all.

Midweek classical concerts are easier. Tuesday and Thursday LA Phil nights have less competition for parking and a faster exit than a sold-out Friday pop show.

Arrive earlier than feels necessary. Highland Avenue backs up badly once the arrival wave hits. The lots opening three hours early is not decoration, and the Bowl's picnic areas are a genuinely pleasant way to spend that time.

Do not sprint out during the encore. In a stacked lot it buys you nothing. Sit through the last song, let the walkways clear for 20 minutes, and walk out to a lot that is already partly emptied.

Bring cash for off-site lots. The church lot is cash or Zelle only, and several of the small private lots are the same.

If your night has a hard deadline, take the bus. No exceptions worth making.
