Stern Auditorium / Perelman Stage at Carnegie Hall · New York, United States
About this event
Blending Broadway, Latin music, and an unforgettable true story, Gloria Estefan and Emily Estefan make their Carnegie Hall headlining debuts with songs from their acclaimed new musical, Basura, alongside members of the world-premiere cast and orchestra. Based on the incredible true story of Paraguay’s Recycled Orchestra of Cateura, Basura celebrates creativity, hope, and the life-changing power of music. Woven throughout the evening, Gloria and the Miami Sound Machine also revisit beloved songs that have defined her remarkable career in a once-in-a-lifetime event that highlights the universal power of music and resilience of the human spirit. Complete this celebratory evening with benefit tickets that include prime concert seating and access to a pre-concert gala dinner; a festive, post-concert after-party; or both! This gala evening supports Carnegie Hall’s artistic, education, and social impact programs, and Paraguay’s Recycled Orchestra of Cateura, an orchestral project in which young artists from Paraguay illustrate music’s power to transform lives. This event directly benefits both organizations, helping advance their shared mission of using creativity and the arts to drive meaningful social change and inspire communities around the world.
